Made it through yesterdays storm with minimal damage.  The last of the clouds cleared off around mid-day only to reveal the white sails of two, probably three sloops.  Their movements indicate that either they are fellow pirates or pirate hunters.  They proceeded to follow us for the rest of the day and into the night.  The look-out can still see their running lights as I write this.

Also, a sea-gull made a bombing run on my uniform today.  In broad daylight, where the entire crew could see me.  Usually, I wouldn't do anything, but for the sake of appearances, I shot the thing our of the air with my pistol.  It felt good.

Things are sure to get sticky if those sloops turn out to be of hostile intent.
