Short weekend.  Too short.  We left port two days ahead of schedule.  Most of our gear wasn't properly stowed.  Spent weekend rectifying that.  Men tired.  Spirits still good.

Stood a watch on the helm this morning.  Felt good to be up and about before my junior officers.  Took time to converse with lead helmsman.  Has wife and children.  No guarantees of him returning to them.  Left watch at sunrise.  Felt depressed.  Met with first mate to finalize plans for our raid.  Encouraged by crewman to take rest of day off.  Refused.

Still no sight of any other ships.  Crew is settling into routine.  Must remember to vary their tasks to avoid boredom.  We've got a long way left to go.
